Inventor Henry "Dad" Garrett was the son of an Irish clergyman who emigrated to Canada to share the good news with native Americans. After Henry's birth, the family moved to Dallas, Texas. Henry grew up to be an electrician and inventor. He started a radio station for the Dallas area and created the first emergency dispatch system. Along with his son, Charles, he was the first to develop a carburetor for the on-demand production of hydrogen and oxygen from water! His invention was patented, demonstrated in public, and described in the newspaper. Then it disappeared.
